| | Oak Grove Lutheran School Expands Elementary and the Early Learning Center. Please call about enrolling your children in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade!
Oak Grove Lutheran School is pleased to announce the expansion of its Early Learning Center and Elementary School. Oak Grove has entered into a Purchase Agreement with Comstock Limited, LLC to acquire the building at 2710 32nd Ave South.
Mike Slette, President of Oak Grove says, “Small class sizes are a hallmark of the Oak Grove Elementary School experience with primary grades, K-2nd targeting 16-18 students per class and 18-20 students in 3rd through 5th. The low student-to-teacher ratio promotes a strong learning environment that consistently produces strong MAP and ND State Assessment test results that are well above state averages.” Currently we have two sections of rooms for every grade. This first stage of expansion will allow us to add a third section to our Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Pre-K. This also gives us the ability to comfortably spread the students between rooms, keeping our low student to teacher ratio. We are “Growing to Stay Small”.
“We love that the new expansion will also include a “Hands-On” Science Lab that can be used by all grades at the Elementary. Where else can Pre-K and Kindergarten students have hands-on science as part of their early learning experience? And having a computer room, library, and gymnasium available for this early age is amazing!” says Joe and Lisa Nicholas, Oak Grove Elementary parents. (Click the READ MORE below)

| | Two weeks of summer fun hosting a student from Japan for a tour of our local culture!
We are currently looking for host families for our two-week summer tour, which will run from July 31 to August 17, as well as host families for our school year from August 21 to May 24. There will be a monthly stipend provided for the care of each student. We need not your money but your open hearts and homes.
During the two-week summer tour we will be hosting students from Luther Gaukin School in Japan. During their stay they will do 6 to 8 lessons of English immersion, go horseback riding, visit the Red River Valley Fair as well as other activities. They will be quite busy and will probably just need a place to lay their head during this stay. The last two-week tour was a wonderful experience for everyone involved. Watching the students experience a taste of our local culture and getting to know us at the same time was a meaningful and memorable experience.
If you would like to hear more about giving these special students a place to stay for those special two weeks, then please contact Michael Thompson at 701-373-7157, or email him at michael.thompson@oakgrovelutheran.com.
