Oak Grove Lutheran School is pleased to announce the expansion of its Early Learning Center and Elementary School. Oak Grove has entered into a Purchase Agreement with Comstock Limited, LLC to acquire the building at 2710 32nd Ave South.
Mike Slette, President of Oak Grove says, “Small class sizes are a hallmark of the Oak Grove Elementary School experience with primary grades, K-2nd targeting 16-18 students per class and 18-20 students in 3rd through 5th. The low student-to-teacher ratio promotes a strong learning environment that consistently produces strong MAP and ND State Assessment test results that are well above state averages.” Currently we have two sections of rooms for every grade. This first stage of expansion will allow us to add a third section to our Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Pre-K. This also gives us the ability to comfortably spread the students between rooms, keeping our low student to teacher ratio. We are “Growing to Stay Small”.
“We love that the new expansion will also include a “Hands-On” Science Lab that can be used by all grades at the Elementary. Where else can Pre-K and Kindergarten students have hands-on science as part of their early learning experience? And having a computer room, library, and gymnasium available for this early age is amazing!” says Joe and Lisa Nicholas, Oak Grove Elementary parents. (Click the READ MORE below)

| | | Oak Grove Special Project for Classrooms: If you didn't get a chance to donate at the Spring Gala towards the purchase of SMARTboards® for Oak Grove classrooms, then here is your chance!
Donating is easy and you can donate in a variety of ways: Make your check out to Oak Grove and write "SMARTboard® Project" in the memo line, go to www.oakgrovelutheran.com and choose the E-Give option, or call Jeff Conant at 701-373-7149.Every teacher who has a SMART Board® in the classroom feels that the board has impacted their teaching and student learning. Teachers find that this technological tool changes how students gain knowledge of material they are learning. Students tend to be more focused, involved, and participate more when smart boards are being used. The primary advantage of SMART Board® is its ability to integrate Web 2.0 tools and computer-based programs into any lesson. With these boards, teachers can present information via power point presentation with built in links to websites, videos, and podcasts in a lesson. Teachers can adjust their presentation on the fly to allow teachable moments or bring in additional supporting material, such as visual arts to support a lesson. SMART Board® appeals to visual and kinesthetic learners because of their interactive presentations. Verbal and auditory learners develop a better understanding of materials during large group interactive lessons. The ability for students to touch the screen
and interact with the material being taught encourages their physical
participation in lessons. Thank you for your consideration in helping our students.
